Google Search Console Recommendations Fully Live

Google Search Console Recommendations Fully Live

Google has officially completed the rollout of its recommendations feature in Google Search Console. Originally introduced as an experimental feature in August, this tool is now available to all profiles within the platform.

New Google Recommendations

In an announcement on 11/26, Google shared, “We’re happy to let you know that Recommendations are now available to everyone!” This confirms that the feature is no longer in the testing phase and is fully live for users.

Not Available for Everyone Yet

While the recommendations feature is broadly available, Google clarified, “You’ll see them only if we have a recommendation available for your website.” If the feature is not visible in your profile, it simply means Google does not currently have suggestions tailored to your site.

What Are Search Console Recommendations?

This new feature is designed to help website owners and administrators optimize their performance on Google Search. According to Google, recommendations provide actionable tips aimed at improving indexing, crawling, and serving based on the insights collected within Search Console.

Google emphasized that the information powering these recommendations was already accessible in Search Console, but the feature makes it easier to act on by surfacing suggestions directly.

Google also noted that recommendations are updated regularly and may change or expire over time. When no recommendations are available, the section will remain empty.

For further details, Google has provided a help document outlining the feature.

What Does It Look Like?

New on GSC

This feature could offer valuable insights into how websites or client sites perform in Google Search. The recommendations may include guidance on improving indexing, crawling, or serving, with varying levels of usefulness depending on your expertise. For seasoned SEOs, some tips might seem obvious, while others could prove exceptionally helpful.

That said, it’s essential to approach these suggestions critically. For instance, if Google advises a news site to add product listings, it might not align with the site's goals or audience.

Use these recommendations as a resource, but trust your knowledge of your website's unique needs and objectives.
